Have used these quite successfully in a Crosman 1377 carbine (18 inch barrel, Canadian tune). The material and design (soft lead, thin skirt) and quality is consistent so accuracy follows.
Having owned several Stoeger A30 (495 fps models) models I can say that those air rifles are well and truly underpowered. For example a Crosman 7.4 gr destroyer would usually deliver about 440-450 fps (about 3.33 fpe) when used 'out of the box'. Therefore using this pellet in an already underpowered air rifle is A) an uninformed or inapropriate choice, and B) expected to perform poorly due to resources vs task.
Giving the pellet a 2 star rating based on your own miscalculation is unfair to the pellet, and may mislead potential AGS shoppers.
These pellets, as are most JSB pellets, are good quality and if matched to the airgun will perform well for you.
You need to have 'at least' 485 fps using a 7.4 gr pellet, 750+ fps is better and ideally 875-1050 fps. Consider why one would even want a 'heavy' pellet; less affected by wind, maximum distance targets per your specific airgun combo, desirable BC (ballistic coefficiency) value.
As for Stoeger A30 it will benefit from a bore cleaning, lube tune, sleeve between coil and piston... at least. They are a good quality air rifle that, as is usual with Stoeger for Canadian market, haphazardly detuned without testing - just ask them at their contact phone number!
IF you have a PAL/non-restricted version of the Stoeger A30 shooting around 800+ fps with 7.4 gr pellet THEN you will appreciate the benefits of this pellet. Using Olympic stance, Stoeger combo 3-9x40 scope I shoot better than bench rested.
Bottom line: excellent pellets, from AGS who is an excellent source that always packs them well, and >>>useful in an air rifle delivering 7+ fpe.<<<
these were tested in my stoeger A30 under 500 fps air rifle and i also tested them in my crosman phoenix as well and in both guns the pellets will not leaev the barrel they are cool and look great and all but these will not fire out of non pal or under 500 fps springer or nitro airirifles i did get them to fire out of my crosman 1377 pistol the speed was about 290 fps which i did expect and they did fire so these are made more for the .177 cal 700+ FPS Air RIfles for sure but defentally not for under 500 fps airguns at all .. other wise they are geat and you get alot of rounds for the money to also great and they are very well made.. so my opnion is unless your going to use them in a air gun that is 700 fps or higher then i would no even bother with them ..
