Wanted to try these in various airguns, pistols and rifles, smooth and rifled bores. Wanted to see if velocity would improve with short barrels and smooth bores, anything else would be a bonus.

These are a harder material than lead or lead/antimony pellets therefore I expected they might not work for low powered airguns due to insufficient power to force rifling engagement - this proved to be correct.

They did work okay in fully tuned 500 fps airguns with rifled barrels but not staisfactory for regular use. I did try these in a couple Co2 powered four inch and six inch rifled barrels and again they either didn't work well or didn't leave the breech.

Where these shine, for me, is in my Crosman 760 versions that had a smooth bore. Accuracy at ten yards was good, velocity improved, and very good penetration, even better than 'pointed' pellets, much better than 'dished' pellets (which are meant to transfer energy more than penetrate). I imagine these would be superb for close range pesting, including 'head shots' on red squirrels or rats etc..

I would suggest to anyone trying them in a rifled barrel 500 fps and above to clean your bore after using if you intend to change back to lead pellets, otherwise you may find your accuracy has changed.

These might also be useful in A) a 'pumper' style where you can adjust your power if needed, and B) in a location you want to avoid depositing lead like your waterfront cottage where you fish, or similar type of location, and C) your truck/tractor/barn gun that is capable of 850 fps or more is likely to provide enough energy out to be useful.

I will happily order more of these before I run out. The pellets were consistent and the container was free of swarf etc. AGS packed them well along with other items. I wish they were cheaper. I wish the lid of the container was a screw-on type. They are a nice find for specific applications!

awesome pellets, the best pellets i used in 10 years of shooting. Used in the Sig MPX, verry accurate, verry powerfull and keep their shape after passing both side of a metal soup can
